La Compagnie Maritime Normande - the Channel Islands connection
Since 1st April 2005 the Conseil Général for La Manche has been running a ferry service, the “Manche Iles Express”, between
the Department of La Manche and the Channel Islands .
Just a few miles apart,
the Channel Islands and La Manche benefit not only from their geographical proximity but also from their close historical, tourism, economic and cultural ties.
The “Manche Iles Express” and the Conseil Général for La Manche are keen to make this historical maritime link permanent in order to develop tourism, cultural and commercial exchanges with our 'cousins' in the
Channel Islands .
